Morning Update: Firefighters respond to JoHo Estates for second time

PRINCETON — Firefighters from East River Volunteer Fire Department and the Athens Volunteer Fire Department responded to JoHo Estates for a fire that rekindled Monday morning.

ERVFD Chief Nelson short estimated that his department received the call for the rekindle at approximately 9:20 a.m. Later, at 9:50 a.m., the Athens VFD was dispatched to provide assistance.

Short said, "I guess we must have left a stone unturned because it rekindled."

Also, Short said that no one was injured in the original blaze or the rekindled fire but that the property was a total loss.

Several nearby observers stated that the original fire had begun around 3 a.m. this morning.

Short confirmed, "We responded sometime this morning."
