Business of the Week: Century 21 Princeton headquarters in the works, while online business surges

PRINCETON — For longtime local real estate brokerage Century 21 Four Seasons Select Properties, 2012 will include a new home in Princeton, but familiar faces and services.

“We opened in 2007, and we handle everything from rentals, to commercial use, to residential properties to vacant properties to land,” owner/broker Jeff Livingston said this week.

The new Princeton facility is currently under construction near the Athens Crossroads and is expected to be open in the last week of March.

In addition to a soon-to-be-expanded footprint in Princeton, the company just launched an all-new customer service portal at www.c21wv.com and retained longtime Bluefield resident Don Zeigler as its new technology manager.

“Ninety percent of home buyers now begin their property search online,” Zeigler said. “The new site serves the consumer by not just providing our listings but all listings in the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS). In addition, the online home buyer can not only view properties but schedule a showing or contact an agent online, and even create an efficient driving route to physically view multiple properties should they wish.

“Also, the consumer can create their own free personal portfolio account, which allows them to save their favorite listings for future reference and to create unlimited automatic customizable property searches, with new results emailed to them automatically if they so choose.”

Livingston added, “We think the website has brought us up to the future. We’ve had a 40 percent increase in leads since we started it.”

In addition to the website, Facebook and Twitter presences, Century 21 Four Seasons Select Properties still tends to the tried and true basics of customer service for its buyers and sellers.

“Phone calls, yard signs, ‘leg work’ and traditional advertising are still very important to us,” Livingston said. “We will even market our sellers’ properties to other area brokerages in order to reach their buyers as well.”

Livingston said, “Our company enjoyed its strongest year ever in 2011, and we are the top area real estate agency in both listings and sales. This isn’t just marketing talk, it’s in the statistics compiled by the Mercer-Tazewell County Board of REALTORS. Since my purchase of this franchise just a few years ago we have experienced phenomenal growth, and we don’t plan to slow down.

“Median home prices in this area are stable. Demand is strong and local lenders are still willing to finance a home purchase. Mortgage rates are at an all time low. It’s an excellent time to buy real estate in Four Seasons Country, and we are positioning ourselves to take advantage of continued positive trends in area real estate, and to better bring our listings and services to the home buying public. Our buyers and sellers expect and deserve quality representation, and we will always work to serve them to the best of our ability.”

He added, “I think our whole philosophy is that we believe in our people. We stand behind our people and we treat our customers right. We have over 35 people working for us. We’re successful because we truly believe in helping people. People dream of buying their own home, whether it be a first home or a new home and we want to help them.”

Century 21 Four Seasons Select Properties’ new office will be at 106 Oakvale Rd., in Princeton, and the Bluefield branch is located at 3507 Cumberland Rd. They can be reached by phone at 304-425-7564 or 304-323-2491. Online, visit Century 21 Select Properties at www.c21wv.com, www.facebook.com/c21wv and www.twitter.com/c21selectprop.

The office hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, but calls are forwarded on a 24/7 basis.
