Authorities: PSHS, Courthouse cleared for return to school, work

PRINCETON — Bomb threats proved a false alarm Monday morning at two Mercer County sites.

Authorities evacuated both Princeton Senior High School and Mercer County Courthouse after receiving reports that there could be explosive devices at the buildings. Investigators and security officials searched both the school and the courthouse but reported that nothing incendiary was found in either location.

At PSHS Princeton Police Department Lt. J.W. Howell reported that the threat arrived at approximately 7:45 a.m.

“We evacuated students, searched the building and let the students back in at about 8:30,” Howell said. “I’ve started the investigation.”

Officials with both the Princeton Police Department and the Mercer County Board of Education reminded citizens that reporting a false emergency is a crime and a threat to public safety.
