How should the West Virginia State Legislature approach texting while driving?

Princeton — Legislation is going to be the only way to stop it. I think that it should be regulated. They have to regulate for safety- not just the people that are texting and driving but the other people on the road. Texting takes away your ability to concentrate behind the wheel.

There should be a penalty. That’s the only way to stop it.

Jessica Walker

They should do something. They need to take it away. The punishment for the first offense should be severe. Texting and driving are very dangerous.

Candace McKinney

It should be a pretty big punishment. If it was really an emergency then you’d be pulled over on the side of the road talking on the phone. There’s no reasonable excuse for texting while driving. There should be fines up to $1000 and if someone is hurt then there should be jail time.
