PRINCETON —
Legacy of Homes and Families in the Princeton/Athens area released a book that covered everything from log cabins to modern day residents of the area.
William Sanders of the College Hill section of Princeton put the book together through research in the book "Memories of Old Princeton" by H.W. Straley.
"I tried to bring [the home areas of Princeton and Athens] up to date, keeping in mind the theme of home and family," he said.
The book began with a map of the original town layout, surveyed by Captain Smith, and a modern day photograph of the city showing where the original town was oriented.
The book went one step beyond a look at the homes; it included a history of the people that gave the home its character. The 130 page book gave a brief written and photographic history of the families who were synonymous to the area.
