PRINCETON —
In a series of ongoing advertisements for Acme Markets, the second in the "What's your Beef" ad took a look at the Round Cut (diagram #8). The wheel describes the common names of the cuts from the round section and where the specific cuts are taken from. It also reminds customers to use a moist heat to enhance the tenderness from any of the specific round cuts.
Also given is the following recipe for Beef Stroganoff:
1 1/2 pounds round steak cut into bite size pieces
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced or 1-10.5 ounce can
1-10.5 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 cup sour cream
4 cup cooked noodles
salt and pepper to taste
Roll meat in flour and brown. Push browned meat to the side and saute onion and mushrooms. Add soup and Worcestershire sauce; simmer and season. Blend in the sour cream slowly to prevent curdling. Spoon over noodles and serve.
Stove top - simmer 1 hour; add sour cream 20 minutes prior to serving
Crock Pot - Cook 7-10 hours on low; add cream and set to hi for 30 minutes prior to serving.
Microwave - Cook 25 minutes on low; add cream and continue on low for 5 minutes.
