PRINCETON —
Information about the Housing and Urban Development Authority's Community Development program was taken "door-to-door" in Princeton's "target areas."
According to Assistant City Manager Art Mead, city officials will be knocking on doors in High and Pine Streets, all of East Princeton, areas north of Straley Ave. and the Old Bluefield-Princeton Road areas and letting them know about the home improvement loans that are available through HUD.
There remained $165,000 remaining out of the $200,000 that Princeton received from the government agency. Loans up to $6,000 were available for residents in the target areas with low-interest payments and payback times established according to family size and income. Interest rates ranged from zero to four percent.
