PRINCETON —
Tom and Geraldine Roe, owners of Tom and Jerry's Truckstop, located just off Route 460, were arrested on five criminal counts. The couple had been arrested earlier that year on charges involving dangerous drugs. The new charges included possession and sale of dangerous drugs and possession of moonshine whiskey.
Geraldine, who was on probation in connection with a conviction in the Mercer County Intermediate Court for possession of dangerous drugs, was charged with possession of a dangerous drug and violation of her parole.
Tom, whose drug case earlier that year was dismissed, attempted to make $15,000 bond.
The couple's arrest was the culmination of a joint investigation carried out by West Virginia State Trooper D. R. Bowman and Princeton City Police Dectective Eddison Belcher and Patrolmen Smmy Barker and "Shorty" Simons.
The police conducted a raid at the truck stop where they confiscated between 150-200 amphetamine pills, which the couple were selling six for $2, and a number of unidentified pills.
Police said that several area youths had patronized the location recently.
