From the November 5, 1981 Archives - "America for Jesus" rally huge success in Princeton

PRINCETON — Approximately 500 local residents turned out for the "America for Jesus" rally held on the lawn in front of the Municipal building and expressed their belief in "the only hope."

Many in the crowd held Bibles and at least one held a sign saying, "Jesus, I love you." A large banner proclaiming, "Unto Him shall the gathering of the people be" from the Book of Genesis served as the backdrop for several inspirational speakers; including one evangelist that held the crowd enthralled with stories from his former sinful ways who proclaimed he was, "a devout heathen who excelled at heathenry."

The march and rally was strongly supported by local and area pastors and churches.
