The Chuck Mathena Center welcomes Mercer County students Friday for a stage adaptation of 'Around the World in 80 Days,' the classic novel by Jules Vernes. Produced by the oldest theatre in America, Walnut Street Theatre, the show follows Phileas Fogg, of London, on his journey of a lifetime to see if it is possible to make it 'Around the World in 80 Days.'

Students at Princeton Primary School enjoyed a visit from the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2 Thursday, as they celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday, just a little bit early. The event included a Seuss-inspired movie, a snack of goldfish, lots of hand-made hats and a lunch of green eggs and ham.

Slideshow: PikeView Middle reaches out to Animal Shelter
Members of PikeView Middle School's chapter of the National Junior Honor Society have spent the last three weeks spearheading a pet supply drive to benefit the Mercer County Animal Shelter. Monday, that effort culminated, as the organization presented more than 500 items, including pet food, cat litter, toys, cleaning supplies and more. Here, NJHS members take a few minutes from class to help load the supplies into the Mercer County Animal Shelter's Animal Control vehicle.

On March 2, Princeton Health and Fitness Center will host a yoga celebration, marking 10 years of yoga classes at PHFC. The event will include three yoga classes, which will be open to the public and Fitness Center members alike. Slideshow: Save the Johnston House or tear it down?
Mercer County Circuit Judge William "Bill" Sadler heard testimony from the Mercer County Historical Society Wednesday, asking the court to stop the proposed demolition of Princeton's historic Johnston House. The home, which sits on property owned by Elizabeth Cutlip, has been condemned, but history buffs hope to repair and restore it in a bid to preserve the legacy of pre-Civil War Princeton. The Johnston House is one of two Princeton homes that were not completely destroyed when the Confederates burned the city in 1862. The court heard testimony from Mercer County Historian Patricia Smith, Mercer County Historical Society President Lois Miller, historical preservation consultant Michael Gioulis and Mercer County Commissioner A. Gene Buckner.

Slideshow: Chamber of Commerce salutes community's brightest
Members and supporters of the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce turned out in force Jan. 24, for the organization's annual dinner at the Chuck Mathena Center. In addition to offering a chance to celebrate the Chamber's success, the annual festivities allowed members to honor Volunteer of the Year Sharon Boggess, Citizen of the Year Robert Farley and EXCEL Business of the Year Princeton Health Care Center. In addition, Dreama Denver served as the keynote speaker, sharing her love for the Always Free Honor Flight.

Slideshow: Mercer School students put social studies in the spotlight
Forty-six projects hit the display tables at Mercer School Wednesday, as the school marked its annual Social Studies Fair inside the Mary Alice Kaufman Student Life Center. The event included in-depth examinations of a variety of topics, including extreme weather, the East River Mountain Tunnel, the Sept. 11 terror attacks on America, the T-Rex and much more. The first-place winners from the school event will proceed on to the county/regional Social Studies Fair at Mercer Mall.
