Cut-and-Choose Christmas Tree Farms

PRINCETON — The West Virginia Division of Forestry encourages the public to travel to one of the many choose-and-cut Christmas tree farms in the area where holiday traditions and envrionmental stewardship go hand in hand.

The choose-and-cut tree farms in Mercer County are:

• Bluestone Nursery, 3517 Stovall Ridge Rd., Camp Creek. Open Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or dark. Products include Canaan fir, Norway spruce, white pines, and a small number of other varieties; 12 feet and smaller. Wreaths, tree stands, drinks, snacks and live ornamental plants are also available. For more information call 304-887-1183 or 304-487-3052.

• Mountain Vista Christmas Tree Farm, 3213 Black Oak Rd., Princeton. Open Monday through Friday and Sunday, 1 p.m.-dark; Saturday, 9 a.m.-dark. Products include Norway spruce, white pine, and a limited number of Scotch pine of all sizes. Wreaths, garlands, winter arrangements and pinecones are also for sale. There are also saws, kneeling mats, gloves, carts and rope available. There are guide-led horse rides, a firepit, hot cocoa, sleigh rides, and souvenir photographs available as well. • Plateau Tree Farm, 1634 Mercer Springs Rd., Princeton. Open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-dark; Sunday, noon-dark. Products include white pine, Canaan and Frasier fir, and wreaths. Assistance provided as needed. Call 304-384-7757 or 304-425-1608 for more information.
