Princeton Public Library Events

PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library will hold the following events during the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 2:

• The event “Blind Date with a Book” will continue through Friday, Feb. 22. Check out a wrapped book from the display downstairs. You won’t know what book you’ve picked until you take it home and unwrap it! Read it and fill out the “Rate Your Date” slip. You’ll be entered into a drawing for a $10 Walmart gift card each time you complete a slip.

• Readers Theater will begin Saturday, Jan. 26, 2-3 p.m. For participants ages 16 and older, the Readers Theater will build confidence, improve public speaking skills, and improve knowlege of literature. Participants will read aloud from monologues this month.

• The group Southern Lit Chicks will meet Monday, Jan. 28, 6-7 p.m. Dean Faulkner Wells' memoir “Every Day By the Sun” will be discussed.

• Storytime at the Princeton Public Library will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, 10-11 a.m. The theme for the week is “Pirate Tales.”

• WVLC READS book group will meet this month on Wednesday, February 6, at 11 AM to discuss Emily’s Ghost. The novel was written by award-winning West Virginia author Denise Giardina.

• Starting Jan. 21, the Princeton Public Library invites you to write a poem about why you love your library. Submissions are accepted at the circulation desk until Feb. 16. You could win a grand sweet for your efforts and also have your poem published on our web site along with your picture! Three age groups: children (through age 12); teens (ages 13-19); and adults. May the best poems win!

To register for any of the above events, call the library at 304-487-5045 or go to http://princetonlibrarywv.com/site/?page_id=1834 to register online.
